I am 31 years old and a mother to 2 kids (ages 8 and 10). I want to pursue being a dentist but am afraid of not being able to give my children an excellent childhood, due to no money coming in and being a full-time student. Their father doesn't have a career, he works low paying jobs. My kids are only kids once and I want them to have an awesome childhood where we go on vacations and do things. With me being in pre-dentistry school I will not have an income for awhile and my boyfriends income is not much. With his income, the things I want to do like vacations aren't going to happen much. What would you advise?

Hey, Sarah! Great question! Here are some answers from Instagram users:
"If you really want to pursue dentistry, work and save money. Help your boyfriend get a good job. He could do an IT Bootcamp. It's been very successful with what I have seen with friends and you can get every you need to start your dental journey."
"You have to learn to balance student and family life."
"Do it anyways, they will appreciate your hustle when they are older and go to college."
"Focus, resistance, and persistence"
"Your dental career isn't worth as much as your kits. Drop and do something else."
As you can see from the Instagram responses, it really depends on you preferences and goals. One thing to consider is financial aspect of dentistry. While you will likely earn a great salary as a dentist, you will also likely take on quite a bit of debt (depending on where you go to school). With college debt and then dental school debt, you may have students loans until your mid-forties to fifties. Just something to consider. I totally understand what you are saying in regards to you children as well. All in all, take into consideration your financial situation, your goals with your family, and what will bring you happiness.
We hope this helps! :)
