Hi, I'm a pre-dental freshmen undergrad student in texas. As I've started my college years recently, I started to get involved into some organization & volunteer opportunities. However, I'm not sure if I'm supposed to do more than just volunteering & organization in terms of extracurricular activities. (I'll be doing shadowing over next summer) Therefore, it would be very appreciated if any per-dental students can provide me with helpful insights regarding this question!

Here are some answers from Instagram users:
"Become a dental assistant to get hours, gain experience, and see if you ACTUALLY want to be a dentist."
Get involved in your school's pre-dental club, get shadow hours, and do your best in classes."
As a freshman, we would recommend, first, that you do well in class. The transition from high school to college can be difficult. Don't put yourself at a disadvantage right off the bat by having a poor GPA your first semester or two. Secondly, find out if dentistry is right for you! Do lots of shadowing, volunteering at a dental office, or working in one. It is so important to learn if you love dentistry and WHY you love dentistry. We hope this helps! :)
